So many of us have good computers nowadays but it doesn't hurt making sure your computer is performing optimally.
Ensuring the highest monitor refresh rate
The refreshrate of your monitor ensures a smooth gaming experience.
Back in the days many people played on 60Hz screens, then 144hz and some people play on 360Hz+ screens nowadays.
If you are certain you have a high refreshrate monitor, ensure that it is connected with a DisplayPort cable.
For users that have NVidia videocards:
On your desktop press the right mouse button and enter the Nvidia Control Panel

Now click change resolution on the left side.
In the dropdown that shows all the screen resolutions, make sure you scroll past the "Ultra HD, HD, SD section" and go to the "PC" section and choose the right resolution there. It's important you select the resolution from the PC section as the first section would only show you low refreshrates.
Then set the refresh rate on the right to the highest value.
If you made any changes, make sure to apply them
